The Aztecs were a powerful and advanced civilization that ruled over large parts of Mesoamerica in the 14th to 16th centuries.They were known for their impressive architecture, particularly the grand pyramids and temples in their capital city of Tenochtitlan.The Aztecs were also skilled farmers who built floating gardens called chinampas to grow crops in the shallow waters of Lake Texcoco.Despite their achievements, the Aztec civilization was ultimately conquered by the Spanish conquistadors led by Hernan Cortes in 1521.
