March 15, 2022

Today was a busy day at the weather station as we tracked a powerful storm system moving across the region. The morning started off mild and sunny, but by midday, dark clouds began to roll in and the wind picked up significantly.

I monitored the radar closely and issued a severe weather warning for potential thunderstorms, hail, and high winds. Our team worked tirelessly to keep the public informed and safe as the storm approached.

As the afternoon went on, the storm intensified, and we began to see some strong thunderstorms developing. I could hear the rumble of thunder in the distance as lightning flashed across the sky.

Thankfully, the storm passed through fairly quickly, but not without leaving behind some damage in its wake. Our area experienced power outages, downed trees, and localized flooding.

I am grateful for the dedication of my team and the tools we have to help us track and predict these severe weather events. It's days like today that remind me of the importance of our work in keeping our community safe and informed.

I am hopeful that tomorrow will bring calmer weather, but I will be keeping a close eye on the forecast just in case. Stay safe out there, friends.
