Without warning, the lights went dark. This was the moment I had been waiting for. My adrenaline went through the roof. The time had finally come that I would get to see and hear my first live concert. I had never really been to a big concert that had a well-known band. A couple of weeks before the concert I got some information about it, but really didn't think much of it. I talked with some friends about the band and we all casually decided to go get tickets for it. Little did I know what an absolutely spectacular time I would have.

Two huge pillars, with lights on them, ran up both sides of the stage. Staring at them closer would reveal a more complicated lighting system with thousands of moving lights. The speaker system was just incredible. The sound coming out of those speakers were crystal clear and intensely powerful. In all there were eighteen speakers, nine on each side of the stage, that went form the floor to the ceiling. Just one of those speakers was like ten feet tall. The stage floor itself was cluttered with lots of unopened material. Some had musical instruments in them; others had cords and microphone hook-ups in them.
Suddenly, I looked over to my left. In the back middle of the theatre was the biggest, most complex sound system I have ever laid my eyes on. It had millions of knobs and switches on a soundboard that was about twenty-five feet by six feet. There was an older, green puke looking computer hooked up to the soundboard. It didn't exactly look like the top of the line computer like everything else in the theatre did, but I guess it got the job done.
