Aluminum oxide (AI2O3) is a compound composed of aluminum and oxygen. When aluminum oxide reacts with sulfuric acid (H2SO4), it forms aluminum sulfate (AI2(SO4)3). Aluminum sulfate can further react with water to produce aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3).
Aluminum hydroxide can then react with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to form sodium aluminate (NaAlO2). Finally, heating sodium aluminate with more aluminum oxide (AI2O3) leads to the formation of aluminum oxide again.
